The Albedor

The Historic Albedor, built for a wealthy New York City Publisher/Ambassador and his family in 1927 – 28, is a three story Great Camp, located on 900 feet of waterfront on 4th Lake in the Central Adirondack Mountains.

The 17,000 square foot home has a total of 14 Bedrooms and 12 1/2 Baths. Eleven of the Bedrooms are en suite. Each room has its own unique qualities; such as period furnishings, a deck, or views of the lake or forest.

Each of the public rooms is done in its own Adirondack style, using clear-cut wood of different Species, to add to their warmth and character.

The grand Entrance boasts a three story open staircase with log balustrade. A huge eat-in Kitchen and separate Butler’s Pantry, offers Subzero refrigeration, a Decor professional range and four Bosch dishwashers. An 8 x 4 center island provides plenty of room for preparation and conversation.

The formal Dining Room has a table which seats 22 comfortably and a granite fireplace…perfect for large, lively dinners.

The 50 x 30 Living Room has an inviting window seat with a spectacular view of Forth Lake, as well as a massive fireplace blasted from granite located on the property, which is flanked by a cozy Inglenook.

Four sets of French doors open on to a large blue stone patio, offering unparalleled views of fourth lake and the mountains beyond. The media room has a 52″ television, comfortable seating and a fireplace.

The Library, furnished in red leather club chairs, also has a fireplace and a Bar hidden in the bookcase – a nod to the years of prohibition.

The Estate also offers a Boathouse with a 2,000 square foot game room and deck overlooking the lake. The property has its own tennis and volleyball courts, a 9 foot pool table, 22 foot shuffleboard table, ping pong table and a play area with fire pit.
